The Taranaki Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, sponsored by TSB Bank, were held in New Plymouth on Saturday 5th November at the TSB Stadium. This year saw over 40 local businesses across 7 categories enter the awards selection process. Over 300 people attended the gala dinner, including business entrants, local business people, sponsors, judges, and council.

Award acceptance

The Environmental and Sustainability Awareness award was sponsored by the New Plymouth DIstrict Council. David Skvor, Operations Manager at Nexans, proudly accepted the award and credited the entire team with the success. "We have worked hard to develop strong practices in environmental and sustainability awareness within our organisation. As a manufacturer, we understand that it's our responsibility to act responsibly. We're so pleased our commitment has been acknowledged with this award", says David.

The Nexans Group has a robust global environmental policy. Nexans' strategy is founded on continuous innovation in products, solutions and services, employee development, customer training and the introduction of safe, low-environmental-impact industrial processes. Nexans also manage a drum collection and recycling programme, and have a strong commitment to continuously reviewing and improving our environmental and sustainability processes.

Congratulations to the category winners, and well done to all of the businesses who were involved in the selection process. We are proud to be a part of the Taranaki business community, and grateful to be rewarded for our commitment to environmental sustainability. Nexans would like to thank the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce, TSB Bank, New Plymouth District Council, the judging panel, and event sponsors and organisers.
