Community Involvement

Nexans (formlerly Olex NZ Limited) has been manufacturing cables from its Bell Block (New Plymouth) location for over 50 years, and has long been considered an ‘employer of choice’. Our community involvement is driven by the belief that we have a responsibility to support and ‘give-back’ to our community, and ideally endeavouring to make a difference for the future.

Nexans is currently involved in the following community groups:

 

Community Assist

Nexans employees are entitled to time off during business hours to coach, manage and officiate in community sports.  Alternatively employees who would prefer to give their time in areas outside of sport have the option to do community volunteer work.

 

Nexans Fun Run/Walk Series

Long term major sponsors of the series, Nexans has been proudly involved for 29 of the 30 year history of this great event.

The Nexans Series comprises of nine athletic clubs individually organising a walking or running circuit over a variety of distances in all areas of Taranaki and held during the summer months.

 

ECANZ Challenge

The ECANZ Challenge is an electrical industry initiative to find the most outstanding individual with a flair for either domestic/commercial, or industrial work. 

 

Habitat for Humanity

Nexans free-issue a variety of building cable to assist with Taranaki Habitat for Humanity projects. These projects help deserving individuals and organisations within the local community.
